Adventure Adjusting to the New Family Computer

Apple Logo :: groovyPost.comWell…the home PC in the living room died last week.  It was a SAD day in the GROOVY home.  After a quick Service,  I decided to try something NEW, so I picked up a new MacBook Pro from the local Apple store.  After a quick setup, we got it rolling and wow!  For a groovy Geek, it’s been taking me longer than expected to feel comfortable on the new Machine.  That being said, there’s a LOT about it that I like.

Perhaps I’ll do a full write-up on my Apple experiences, but for now, I want to begin documenting one of the most important things for any Groovy Geek —  KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS!

This list is going to be a “work-in-progress” so you might want to check it from time to time, as I find more Shortcuts and add to it.

Awesome timing on this one! Just picked up a iMAC and an iPhone. I’ve felt lost ever since. It’s coming slowly but I think the Apple is great for the home.

Thanks again, I was having trouble figuring out how to close a window. CMD-W baby!

Um…. No :) Nice try MrGroove…. Sorry to see you’ve been a sucka for the Steve Jobs Propaganda Train.

@T1000 – Yes, CMD-W is a very useful key! When I first started using the MAC for email, I was annoyed that the ESC key doesn’t work in Microsoft Entourage like it does in Microsoft Outlook. VERY odd….. Once I found the CMD-W key however, I’m happy again!

@pc4life – I understand where your coming from. Before I bought a MAC I was a bit skeptical. Personally, I think it’s a great Home computer.
